Stuff safely stored
UncategorizedThe problem with all this exciting construction and deconstruction is that it generates an awful lot of stuff (particularly bolts). As a floating ethereal collective, we didn’t have anywhere to keep any of it..!
Until know. Luckily for us Justin and the team at the Safestore in Kings Cross came to save the day, but kindly donating rental of a lovely unit for the Community Interest Cause! We can’t say thank you enough to them for giving us access. But we can try!

Thank you Safestore!
Scale Rulers let loose on the engineering world
Uncategorized
For anyone tracking our whereabouts two scalerulers were recently papped at the IABSE Bath 2017 conference. Not only did we manage to agree on which session to attend, we also co-presented last year’s pavilion project during a session about educating, inspiring and developing creative and innovative designers. A great chance for us to get on our high horses! You can check out our IABSE 2017 paper here.
Big thanks to The Visual Shop for the new illustration
Next Generation Design, Uncategorized
Big thanks to Phil Buckingham at The Visual Shop for the amazing illustration of the NGD pavilion. If it looks half as good as this in real life we’ll be on to a winner!
We’re now really ramping up for the build so if you’re keen to help out then sign up on the about page.
Lecture at the Bartlett
UncategorizedIn a continuation of our efforts to spread the virtues of structural engineering tomorrow I’ll be giving a lecture to 4th year Architecture students at the Bartlett. The talk will mainly focus on how we can inform intelligent form through an understanding of structural simplicity and elegance. For anyone interested in this field I’d recommend checking out the legendary D’arcy Thompson and his book, ‘On Growth and Form’!

IDP public display
UncategorizedWell done to the UCL IDP students who presented some very impressive projects at the public display in UCL today, responding to the briefs we set them for four projects back in October.

FUTURE OF DESIGN – PHOTOS AND NOTES
Education, Future of Design, Uncategorized
After the dust has settled on a hectic weekend we’ve uploaded the photos and lecture slides from the workshop and crits. A huge thanks to all the team involved and to our camera women Erica Choi for documenting all the fun.
Check out the future of design page and feel free to get in contact and use the lecture slides if you’re planning your own similar event.
