Sadly all good things must come to an end and so that fate befell this year beautiful NGD London pavilion. There was hardly a dry eye in the park as the pavilion came down in one epic weekend. Big thanks to all the volunteers who turned up to help.
The great news is that all* the wood has gone to a good home: either to local community garden groups keen to upgrade their planters, or to City Wood Services, an excellent organisation who collect, reuse and resell salvaged trees and timber.
*Ropey ol’ plywood treads are hard to shift for any sort of valuable reuse, so unfortunately went to landfill courtesy of Islington Council. If anyone has any ideas for getting another life out of the stuff, we’d love to hear from you so we can avoid this next time!
