Training the next generation of designers, architects and engineers!
What
- Architecture and engineering power sessions! (6no 1 hour sessions)
In collaboration with Oasis Academy Silvertown we are leading a six-week educational program aimed at encouraging kids from all sorts of diverse backgrounds into built environment careers, with a focus on engineering and architecture. We have dubbed this, descriptively, The Scale Rule High School for Built Environment Design (TSRHSFBED).
The program involves six one-hour workshops at the school campus every Thursday afternoon run by practicing architects and engineers. Over the duration of the program students will develop a pavilion design to a brief and learning the basics of construction as the project develops. The course will culminate in each student creating a portfolio of design work showing their design journey through The High School!
After taking part students will have the opportunity to apply for future work experience through any of the participating architecture and engineering companies whose staff are mentors for the TSRHSFBED.
Who
The workshop is aimed at 13-14 year olds interested in architecture and engineering. The High School is currently a pilot program at Oasis Academy Silvertown, but if you are an interested student or a motivated teacher, then please get in touch.
